Icon Club is an institution in Berlin's nightlife: a nightlife the city administration loves mentioning in it's bid to attract tourists and investors. On January 1st 2011 however, the club's license is being withdrawn.
A new apartment block has been built next door – modern living in Prenzlauer Berg – chic and expensive. Having a club as neighbours doesn't fit into that picture. There have been too many complaints from the new residents, not due to loud music, but because of the people on the sidewalk. The authorities of Berlin's Pankow district have decreed: Icon must go.
Our first booking for Icon Club was for Dom & Roland in March 1997. We had only been trading for a couple of months then and so did the venue.
Thirteen years and hundreds of bookings later, Icon Club and it's owners Lars and Pamela have become good friends to us with whom we share a passion for forward thinking music and artists.
They never sold out, always supported our acts, and have an impeccable work ethic. This is why so many of the acts they hosted were happy to return again and again.
Now we want to help get the word out that it's not yet too late to turn things around for Icon Club.
Since the news broke a lot of political support has been shown and with everyone's help we can help Icon Club to stay open, so please show your support by visting the links provided.

With his sixth full-length album 'Music for prophet' out later this month, Klute has recently been touring everywhere from New Zealand to Mexico. A rich and diverse musical background gives him a unique identity as an artist, often drawing from his roots in techno and punk rock to create a dynamic and energetic live performance when he's at the controls.
